Have a Blessed Christmas!

“Silent Night”

Psalm 139

1 O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.
2 Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.
3 Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.
4 For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.
5 Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.
7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.
13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.
15 My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.
16 Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.
17 How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!
18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.
19 Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.
20 For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.
21 Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?
22 I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.
23 Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:
24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

PSALM 145

I lift you high in praise, my God, O my King! and I’ll bless your name into eternity.

I’ll bless you every day, and keep it up from now to eternity.

God is magnificent; he can never be praised enough.

There are no boundaries to his greatness.

Generation after generation stands in awe of your work; each one tells stories of your mighty acts.

Your beauty and splendor have everyone talking; I compose songs on your wonders.

Your marvelous doings are headline news; I could write a book full of the details of your greatness.

The fame of your goodness spreads across the country; your righteousness is on everyone’s lips.

God is all mercy and grace – not quick to anger, is rich in love.

God is good to one and all; everything he does is suffused with grace.

Creation and creatures applaud you, God; your holy people bless you.

They talk about the glories of your rule, they exclaim over your splendor,

Letting the world know of your power for good, the lavish splendor of your kingdom.

Your kingdom is a kingdom eternal; you never get voted out of office.

God always does what he says, and is gracious in everything he does.

God gives a hand to those down on their luck, gives a fresh start to those ready to quit.

All eyes are on you, expectant; you give them their meals on time.

Generous to a fault, you lavish your favor on all creatures.

Everything God does is right – the trademark on all his works is love.

God’s there, listening for all who pray, for all who pray and mean it.

He does what’s best for those who fear him – hears them call out, and saves them.

God sticks by all who love him, but it’s all over for those who don’t.

My mouth is filled with God’s praise. Let everything living bless him, bless his holy name from now to eternity!

PSALM 121 A song of ascents

I lift up my eyes to the hills – where does my help come from?

My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip – He who watches over you will not slumber;

indeed, He who watches over Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over you – the Lord is your shade at your right hand;

the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all harm – He will watch over your life;

The Lord will watch over your coming and going

CHRISTIAN LIFE (I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE LAMB)

click-aici-pentru-a-citi-acest-post-in-romana.jpg

I PLEDGE ALLEGIANCE TO THE LAMB (singing Ray Boltz)

A father talks with his son about the christian life:

(conversation between father and son)

(Son) Dad, has it always been this way?

(Dad) Well, even from the beginning men hated Jesus

Even thought he did nothing but love them

And teach them and heal them.

They nailed him to a cross.

They thought they had killed Him, but they only set him free

To live in the hearts of people like you and me who believe in Him.

Then came the apostles and most of them were killed

For telling other people about Jesus.

But that time it was too late. There were hundreds of people who believed in Jesus

So they tortured them and killed them

And even left their bodies to rot as an example to other people,

But the church kept right on growing

Watered by the blood of these precious Saints.

(Son) But Dad, did they want to die?

(Dad) No. They didn’t want to die.  I mean, many of them had children

Just like you they had to leave behind.

But they were forced to make a choice.

They could choose to live this one life here on earth and reject Jesus

And be damned or they could chose to believe in the words of Jesus

And live forever.

(Son) I think I understand.

(Dad) Here, maybe this will help you understand.

(Song: I pledge allegiance to the Lamb)

I have heard how Christians long ago

Were brought before a tyrants throne

And they were told that he would spare their lives

If they would renounce the name of Christ.

But one by one they chose to die

The Son of God they would not deny

Like a great angelic choir sings

I can almost hear their voices ring.

CHOURS:

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb

With all my strength

With all I am

I will seek to honor His commands

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb.

Now the years have come and the years have gone

But the cause of Jesus still goes on

And now our time has come to count the cost

To reject this world, to embrace the cross

And one by one let us live our lives

For the One who died to give us life.

Till the trumpet sounds on the final day

Let us proudly stand and boldly say

REPEAT CHORUS:

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb

With all my strength

With all I am

I will seek to honor His commands

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb.

To the Lamb of God who bore my pain

Who took my place, Who wore my shame.

I will seek to honor His commands

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb.

(conversation between father and son continues)

You’ve got to remember that it wasn’t always this way.

I mean, my dad could even pray in school.

Of course, they took that away from him.

Then it became incorrect for us to believe in the Bible

And after that they just stripped our right to worship away from us

And we quietly stood by.

But son, I hope that you’ll never put in the position

That you have to choose between your faith and your life.

But if you are – I know which choice you’re going to make

Because I know that Jesus lives inside of you.

In the meantime, just pray like I taught you how to

And take care of your mom

And remember that God is the Father of the fatherless.

REPEAT CHORUS:

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb

With all my strength

With all I am

I will seek to honor His commands

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb.

REPEAT CHORUS:

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb

With all my strength

With all I am

I will seek to honor His commands

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb.

REPEAT CHORUS:

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb

With all my strength

With all I am

I will seek to honor His commands

I pledge allegiance to the Lamb.

PSALM 91

click-aici-pentru-a-citi-acest-post-in-romana.jpg

jesus2.jpg

He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.

I will say of the LORD, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Surely he will save you from the fowler’s snare and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart. You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.

A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you. You will only observe with your eyes and see the punishment of the wicked. If you make the Most High your dwelling – even the LORD, who is my refuge - then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone. You will tread upon the lion and the cobra; you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

“Because he loves me,” says the LORD, “I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him. With long life will I satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

1 CORINTHIANS 13

click-aici-pentru-a-citi-acest-post-in-romana.jpg

” If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. “

This is passage 1 Corinthians 13 from the Bible

I think that we used this word “love” so many different ways nowadays, so the real meaning of LOVE was lost in time. Not only lost, but its meaning was also deformed, according to the person who uses it. We know who is interest in deforming this meaning, by giving it many wrong images.

How big our God’s love was for us that “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3.16).

Love is not vogue, it is modesty.

Love is not when you convert yourself in your own idol, when you promote yourself, and your image.

Love is not what we watch on TV day and night (and especially at night).

Television sells image. This is its role. It is shallow and it sells shallowness. The image is what they sell, not the substance. There are advisors and counselors behind each smile, behind any retort. Behind that seemingly blunder, too.

Nowadays it is up to date aggressiveness, vulgarity and their degradations. (as also said in About this weblog). More violent we are, much more we win in this world.

Love can’t be selfish, even we watch all around this feeling. It seems to be love but it is not.

Love is not intrigue; even the soap operas are based on this feeling.

Love is sacrifice, is giving up at something important (for you) in order to do something important for the other one. And especially doing that with joy!

Love can’t be jealous, because a person is not an object, a thing. You can’t posses him/her. If we feel jealousy for someone this is not love, it is pride and imagination.

SOMEONE really loves us with jealousy but this is the only right feeling, because He really owns us. He bought us with His Son’s blood, so He is the only one who can claim what He owns.

Love was so beautiful in those old times, 2000 years ago, in 1 Corinthians 13

Antoine de Saint-Exupery, the author of “The Little Prince” (you can read it here) was giving a wonderful definition for love: “Love does not consist of gazing at each other, but in looking together in the same direction.” Aimer, ce n’est pas se regarder l’un l’autre, c’est regarder ensemble dans la même direction.
