WHERE DO YOU HOLD JESUS?
Some are obeying Jesus entirely, no matter what He would require them.
Others just select. What they want, what is suitable for them. A good friend was saying to me recently: some people say: “I’ve done that, and that, well, is ok with that, but… to do that thing too… no, that’s enough…!
Some are obeying Jesus entirely. Others only partly.
There are only few who really obey Him.
But learning, listening, obeying entirely come in time. But I believe that God has a constant number of persons who really obey Him.
Some are receiving Jesus in their hearts. They invite Him in the living room, and ask Him to feel as He is at home; they offer Him the best chair. To be sure that He is has a comfortable sojourn there, so He will want to stay there. Because they want to be sure that He has no reason to go away. They act that way, so He will feel He is at home, so this wonderful guest will want to become their Host. Then, maybe He will help them cleaning, winnowing. Maybe He will sort for them, to keep what He likes and to throw away what He hates. And He will lead their “houses” from now on.
Others hold Jesus in the lobby:
- See, it’s a mess here, in my house … I didn’t clean for a long time, because I’m so busy … sorry I can’t invite You in.
So, Jesus stays in the lobby for a while. But how could He remain somewhere He is not desirable?
- Well, I’ll come another day …
- Phone me before, so I’ll be home (or not having other guests).
How could He become your master, your heart’s lover, your “house” manager, if you have other concerns, other interests, something “better” to do?
1 Corinthians 1.18: For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
